TERM I 2014 COURSES

Wine Making: run by Damien Byrne

This course will take place over 12 months and offers hands on experience through all the steps in making your own wine.  Participants will share the cost of the grapes and then share the end product.  An introductory session will be held Thursday Feb 6th 10.30-11.30 at Marrar Woorn.  Damien will explain the processes that you will follow, costs will be estimated and you can decide if you would like to join the wine-makers for the full course.  Register now if you want to find out more.

Appreciation and Identification of Birds in the Colac Shire:  lead by Richard Stone

Some people may have attended Richard’s talks before but he is offering three new sessions showing how new technologies and digital photography can help you to enjoy this hobby.  His one hour sessions will include time at the end for questions and discussions.  In addition, Richard will share information about where to find and identify birds around the Colac Otway Shire and even in your own backyard. A day’s outing to be arranged.

“Where did I come from?”:  a beginners genealogy group

Get help from a group who have been searching their family trees for some time.  How to start your family tree.  Where do you find information about your ancestors?  How to record the information – either on a computer program or paper based.  Initial introduction 5 sessions.

American  Politics: “Poverty, Racism, and the Black Revolt” sessions lead by Ray Nichols

How much do you understand about American politics?  This is a chance to learn more across a series of five sessions, Ray will share his extensive knowledge, sessions will be quite informal with time for discussing the issues.

Making music: a group activity lead by Yvonne Francis

These sessions are designed to bring music lovers together.  Whether you can read music or not, you can create music and songs.  Lead by Yvonne this is a chance, in an informal setting, to learn and appreciate the importance and joy of music in your life.
